Are secret handshakes behind Cavaliers’ success?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to one of the hottest starts in the NBA. Looking at the dynamic, you could argue that their great play is for a number of reasons. Kevin Love contributing more offensively, Tristan Thompson’s averaging over 10 rebounds a game or Kyrie Irving establishing his role as the second in command to Lebron James. But in all honesty, the Cavs are winning (and making it look effortless) because they have a smoking gun; team chemistry. You know chemistry, that thing that the Golden State Warriors are still trying to desperately establish. It’s an all out love fest in Cleveland and it’s paying off big time.

Watching the Cavs overcome a 3-1 deficit to beat defending champs Golden State Warriors and win the 2016 NBA title was possibly one of the greatest feats to over in recent sports history. To be frank, the odds of that actually happening were slim to none. But somehow, the Cavs willed their way and in the process established a team bromance. The past few months have been nothing short of a display of just how much they genuinely enjoy each other’s company. They’ve collectively become that really annoying happy couple we all know in our lives and try to ignore at all cost. They even have special handshakes to prove just how in sync they are:

Do you know how much effort that requires? Their pre-game handshakes alone are a warm up in and of themselves. When the Cavs are not spending time working on their handshakes they’re attending baseball games together:

They even go to concerts together:

The Cavaliers understand that chemistry plays a vital role in a team’s architecture. It really is what separates good teams from great teams. Also having a future Hall of Famer and arguably one of the best players to ever play in Lebron James doesn’t hurt either.

I anticipate the Cavs to roll through the Eastern Conference comfortably and further establish the unbreakable bond they have now.
