DeMarcus Cousins celebrates death of Kings atop Mardi Gras float

It’s safe to say that DeMarcus Cousins is loving his new home in New Orleans. So much so, he was recently spotted living it up at Mardi Gras with yellow panties on his head.

The news of DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins being traded from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans left everyone scratching their head. But it looks like Boogie is fitting in just fine in the ”Big Easy.” As we all know, Mardi Gras is a tradition in New Orleans that basically gives everyone an excuse to get wasted and party. Now that Boogie’s in New Orleans, he’s no exception. What better way to welcome a new player than a ride on a Mardi Gras float? Watch him ride the float with his new front court partner in crime, Anthony Davis:

Here’s another shot of the big man accompanied by Anthony Davis sipping out a bottle of Hennessy because.. Why not:

Clearly, he’s having some fun down in The Big Easy, which is awesome, but he doesn’t want to become a cautionary tale of a superstar lost in the sauce like these guys:

It’s nice to see Boogie in better spirits, given his heart-wrenching departure from his former team. Being happy seems to suit DeMarcus. I mean, we’ve all seen what he’s like when he’s mad:

Since the trade, the Pelicans haven’t really had the start they were hoping for now that they have the front court of their dreams. They’re actually 0-3 since the trade. But clearly that’s not stopping them from having a good time. Let’s hope they don’t go too hard because the NBA season is still in full swing and they’re only a few games out of the last playoff spot in the West. Seeing the way Boogie’s been chugging on that Hennessy bottle, it’s safe to say that the team’s losing record isn’t gonna stop its players from living the good life off the court.
