Andre Drummond releases a NSFW rap freestyle

The world of sports and music often collide. How can it not when athletes use their favorite artists as motivation during workouts and pre-game warm ups to get their emotions right where they want it to be before a game. The only problem is often times athletes take it a step further and actually want to create music. Andre Drummond is the latest athlete to try his hand at rap.

In a world where basically everything lives online Andre Drummond threw himself down the rabbit hole that is the internet and released a freestyle (with a video to boot) for fans to listen to and cringe at all at the same time.

It’s really hard for athletes to be taken seriously when it comes to making music. It just is. I think it’s great that they have other talents that they’d like to pursue but in all honesty, no one wants to hear their favorite NBA player rap. Someone please pass that memo along to Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A:

Even if their music was legitimately good, we still don’t want it. Their best bet is taking a page out of LeVeon Bell’s book and crafting a diss track. Which would still be a spectacle in itself. Outside of that, there really is no safe way to navigate putting out music if you’re an athlete. What may sound and look like a great idea now, will actually look something like this when it’s all said and done:

I think we can all agree..

Athletes want to be rappers and vice versa, but here’s some quick advice for professional athletes: just focus on your own craft or you can always befriend your favorite artist and live vicariously through them, kind of like Odell Beckham Jr. and Drake.
