From The Don to the Spin King: Australia’s Greatest Test XI

Australian cricket has a rich past that has blessed the game with some of the greatest players in its history. They have been at the very forefront of cricket for so many years, which is testament to their wealth of ability and longevity.

While they may not be quite at the top of all three formats of the game at the moment, they have spent more than their fair share at the top. The current side boasts the likes of David Warner and Steve Smith, but would they be a part of Australia’s all-time best Test XI?

The Australian line-up is a ferocious one, and a team that wouldn’t fear taking on any other side in the world. Of course, the glaring selection is not having Bradman at three.

Having not ever played a Test as an opener, it may seem like an odd choice, but such was the character and ability of The Don, that we have no doubt that he would be able to make the position his own.

The rest of the team is just a who’s who of talent. Superb batting, explosive hitting, the king of spin, pace and control, it really doesn’t get much better than this. Australia have historically dominated the cricketing world and, if this was their current team, nobody would even get close to them.
