Pound-for-pound: Carl Froch’s top five fighters

Carl Froch, three-time world champion and 33 wins from 35 fights, gives the Cobra one of the best boxing careers out there. Most notable for his two victories over George Groves, and filling out Wembley stadium with the highest boxing crowd in Britain since World War II.

The supper-middleweight’s only two losses in his career came at the hands of Dane, Mikkel Kessler, and America’s, Andre Ward. With Ward currently preparing to face Sergey Kovalev this coming weekend, after his controversial UD win last November; both fighters are still regarded by Froch as two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world right now.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Froch has named his top five pound-for-pound fighters; where do the pair rank in the Cobra’s books?

There are some world-class fighters on this list, but they all still have some way to go to topple Floyd Mayweather as the greatest ever pound-for-pound fighter.

Let’s just hope for boxing fans that Money doesn’t undo all that good work on August the 28th.
