Few teams in baseball have a prouder tradition than the Boston Red Sox. Despite once having a championship drought that lasted nearly 90 years, few teams have a richer history. The franchise has one of the most iconic stadiums in baseball and has been involved in some of the game’s most memorable moments, from the sale of Babe Ruth to Carlton Fisk’s home run in the 1975 World Series to being on the losing end of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series to the curse-breaking championship in 2004.

One by-product of all that history is great difficulty in putting together an all-time greatest roster for the Red Sox. At just about every position, the Red Sox have multiple players who could qualify as an all-time great, not just in team history, but in baseball history. Nevertheless, here is our best shot at creating the all-time greatest roster in Boston Red Sox history.

So, how did we do? Which Red Sox legends are missing from this list?
