Started from the bottom: Small school players who will be NFL stars

Michael Briggs

For every first-round pick out of Ohio State and Alabama, there is one non-Power Five player who rises from relative obscurity to become an NFL star. The path to the league is certainly more arduous for these players, but not impossible to navigate. These small school stars are on their way to becoming the next small school stars to make it big in the pros.

Antonio Brown (Central Michigan) and David Johnson (Northern Iowa) were not heavily recruited as teenagers, but have developed into two of the best players in the league. Will any of these guys join them at the top? Only time will tell, but they all appear to be on the right path.
