Pronax Is Far From A Godsend For GODSENT

Markus “pronax” Wallsten’s GODSENT squad were supposed to have the upper hand after the Swedish roster shuffle with Fnatic – picking up Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson, Jesper “JW” Wecksell, and Robin “flusha” Ronnquist. The reality has demonstrated others, with Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson back in place of the returning KRiMZ. On top of that, bad results have plagued GODSENT, seemingly picked clean of their Fnatic memories. Pronax is the accidental mastermind behind GODSENT’s troubles.

GODSENT’s fall from their pedestal was shocking, particularly considering the boastful firepower GODSENT brought in. Even the greatest fortune tellers of the CS:GO scene wouldn’t have been able to predict this downfall. With a twisted mindset such as pronax’s and the explosiveness of the now combined Fnatic duo, surely it would have made amends to the loss of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer’s presence within the squad.

Pronax’s supposed prodigal approach to the game has only resulted in lacklustre performances from GODSENT, notably displayed during their late-resurgence against Astralis at WESG. Of the first two maps – de_dust2 and balanced de_mirage – GODSENT only managed a meagre two rounds on their T side.

The pronax alarm bells have to be ringing.

Pronax hasn’t been cutting his team any slack, at least according to his statistics in the past 3 months. Even during his old Fnatic days, pronax would still have horrid stats, yet Fnatic continued to dominate teams on a daily basis. The significant difference between then and now, is the elite play of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson.

With the game in its current state, aggressive players such as Jake “Stewie2k” Yip and reliable anchors like Timothy “autimatic” Ta, have a greater chance of being able to single-handedly turn improbable situations turn into their favour. GODSEND don’t appear to have wizened up to this fact.

Strategies can’t just be recycled over and over again. Eventually, opponents will be able to use your own strategies against you, particularly with heavy anti-strat leaders such as Sean “seangares” Gares. Gares himself, coincidentally, completely screwed pronax’s game plan during Cloud9 and Fnatic’s duel at the FACEIT Finals. It just goes to show that once the trick is uncovered, pronax is unable to formulate a plan on the fly.

Undoubtedly, there are some other variables that factor into GODSENT’s downfall, including the lack of aggressive players and the low success rate of JW’s aggressive AWPing style. But all of the issues, in one way or another, can be traced back to pronax.

It is believed that pronax’s horrid performances can only be compensated with star power, and that seems to be the case in GODSENT’s troubles. Sadly, pronax doesn’t have the resources to remedy the situation, the only realistic option for pronax is to move to coach, immediately providing GODSENT with the opportunity to open up more space for potential fragging power.
