WATCH: Ryan Tannehill throws worst pass attempt in NFL history

Professional quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw a pass so bad that it ended up in a 20-yard loss for the Dolphins.

Ryan Tannehill is set to make 17 million dollars at the start of the 2017 season and we still don’t know if he is any good. After a rough start to the season, the Dolphins have won 7 of their last 8 games, and Tannehill has looked like a competent quarterback. But every once in a while, he’ll do some like this and make you question just how competent of a quarterback he actually is.

It was a rainy day in South Florida, so we’ll cut Tannehill a little slack, but that pass attempt ended up costing the Dolphins at least 20 yards. The refs may have ruled the play a fumble, but we are not going to let Tannehill completely of the hook for throwing hands down the worst pass in NFL History.

This Kent State quarterback may have held the title for worst pass attempt before today, but Tannehill is the new champion. I don’t want to be too hard on the college kid; unlike Tannehill, he doesn’t get paid millions of dollars to throw the football.

The Dolphins ultimately went on to beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-23, but to add injury to insult, Tannehill left the game with a torn ACL and was visibly emotional on the sideline. Despite his errant throw, Tannehill was having arguably his best season and seemed to be making strides under new Dolphins head coach Adam Gase. The Tannehill injury all but ends any playoffs hopes the Dolphins had and raises even more questions about the future of the Miami quarterback.

Matt Moore will take over for Tannehill, who hasn’t missed a start in his five seasons with the Dolphins. Moore is a decent fill-in, but the Dolphins are now in limbo, still waiting to find out if Tannehill can be their franchise QB.
