Nico Rosberg has made a lightening quick start to 2016, winning the first three Grands Prix. The 30-year-old German is a new man on and off the racetrack, and he’s destined to win the World Championship for the first time in his career.

Ever since Nico Rosberg and wife Vivian Sibold announced the birth of their daughter Alaϊa Rosberg last year, Rosberg’s form has dramatically improved. During the second half of the 2015 season, Rosberg was generally the quicker driver at Mercedes, and sources claim that’s down to Rosberg’s new frame of mind since becoming a parent. He has been more relaxed at race weekends, making rival Lewis Hamilton look like an angry, rabid dog.

Let’s face it. Men have fragile egos and humiliation is one of the toughest pills to swallow. In 2014 and 2015, Nico Rosberg was outclassed by Lewis Hamilton on and off the racetrack. The low moment for Rosberg came on the podium at Spa where he was booed by a hundred thousand fans. These two years left Rosberg beaten and humiliated, but it also forced the German into a state of soul-searching.

Enter 2016. Rosberg found himself and he’s now refusing to allow the painful past to dictate the present. He is comfortably outperforming Lewis Hamilton on the track, as well as rivalling the Englishman on social media (one recent report stated that Rosberg is dominating the Twitter war. #winning).

3. When you train like this, losing isn’t an option

Nico Rosberg is a die-hard gym rat, spending countless hours in the gym each day to prepare for the enormous physical strain of a Grand Prix weekend. This recent video featuring Rosberg shows how the German gets ready for a new season in Formula One. Disclaimer: the video may make you feel like a sack of potatoes.

4. Winners look like Leo

Let’s face it, when it comes to looks and style, Nico Rosberg is every woman’s dream guy. With his Leonardo DiCaprio looks (many claim he’s actually superior to Leo in the looks department), he’s an intimidating force for several insecure drivers in the paddock (cough, splutter, cough, Lewis Hamilton). Only winners look like this, and Nico Rosberg is a #winner.

5. He’s mind-fu**ing Lewis Hamilton

After being mind-raped by Lewis Hamilton for the past two seasons, Nico Rosberg has reversed the tide and is literally planting nuclear bombs in Lewis’ unstable head. Next time they are in Parc ferme together, watch Nico Rosberg’s pearly white smile every time the cameras are in his face. He knows that Lewis surfs the web and reads newspapers – and there is nothing more of a mind-bomb than his handsome smile gracing the headlines.

6. He has Mercedes behind him

Nico has proved to Mercedes since the end of 2015 that he is their number one driver, dominating rival Lewis Hamilton at six straight Grands Prix. With his Mercedes contract set to end this season, many believed 2016 was Nico’s farewell year. Quite the contrary. Nico has responded with lethal precision on the racetrack, firmly establishing himself as the best driver on the grid this year. Mercedes are now behind his Championship push, and some say he is getting favorable treatment in the garage from boss Toto Wolff.
