Hamilton is taking a determined mindset to the Mexican Grand Prix and sounds punchy for the race ahead.

There’s been plenty of drum banging about the prospect of a Hamilton DNF this weekend, but the Mercedes team are incredibly efficient in this area. The Malaysian GP retirement was the first mechanical DNF in 22-races.

In regards to his Championship defense, Hamilton said,

“I don’t feel I ever arrive at a grand prix, or any kind of competition, and want it to be easy. I love doing things that are difficult. If I go rock climbing, I don’t go for the easiest wall to climb, I always go for the hardest first. It’s almost like your eyes are too big for your belly and you go for a bigger plate.

Would I like to be in a different position right now? Of course. All I know is that I’ve got this challenge ahead of me and I’m ready to go, I’m ready to fight. If there’s any time to be the best I’ve ever been, it’s in these last three races.

All I can do is control what happens in the car and what I do. So as long as my focus is all towards that then hopefully I can get results like I did last weekend. If I don’t then you move forwards.

I guess you just have to take everything with a pinch of salt and I’m hoping and praying that my car stays in tact through these next three races.”

Rosberg has been dealing with too much bullshit from Bernie Ecclestone to offer the same level of depth in his answer. He addressed Benie’s slating of his character with,

“I am here to win races, not to please everybody that’s out there. There will always be people who have opinions that go against me in some way or another that’s the nature of the business. I like to focus on the people who really work with me.”

– Nico Rosberg

The neutrals will be hoping that the title isn’t concluded this weekend, but goes down to the wire in Abu Dhabi.
