Remember when a paper aeroplane thrown from 120 yards hit a player?

Something glorious happened during a boring England/Peru friendly over two years ago.

England fans made the most of the paper clappers that had been handed out during England’s friendly against Peru.

Fans quickly set about launching their model planes onto the pitch, a harmless piece of fun when you consider the things that normally get thrown; coins, water bottles and such like.

Shot on a camera phone in the upper-tier of a packed Wembley Stadium, one plane did the unthinkable and soared onto the fabled pitch. In a moment that would have given the Wright brothers a cause for celebration, the plane struck Peru defender Hansell Riojas in the back of the head, completing one of the greatest throws in paper aeroplane aviation history.
