WATCH: Team Liquid Announce Piglet’s LCS Return With The Cutest Announcement Video

It’s round three and Piglet Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin is stepping back into the ring for Team Liquid once more. The Korean AD Carry has been a controversial element of the Team Liquid organisation since his arrival in late 2014, experiencing the highs and lows of competitive North American League of Legends. To announce his return to the LCS starting roster, Team Liquid have produced a heartwarming video to welcome Piglet back into the side – glossing over any negativity that may surround him following his performance in ‘Breaking Point’.

It’s the news that all faithful Team Liquid fans have been waiting for; Team Liquid will give Piglet one last chance to prove his worth. The former SK Telecom T1 AD Carry has flattered to deceive for the majority of his stay in North America, spending the majority of the Summer Split playing alongside his new LCS teammates in Team Liquid’s Academy squad.

After being so accommodating towards the unsettled Korean, now is the time for Piglet to finally rise to the occasion and return the favour to his team.

“I’m excited to say that I’ll be back as Team Liquid’s ADC. I feel like after TLA didn’t make LCS, I really wanted another chance to prove that I have what it takes to win.

“I’m really happy and excited to play with Reignover and also play with Lourlo, Matt, and GoldenGlue again. I am working extra hard to make all of you guys proud to be a TL fan for season 7.

“Thank you to Steve, David, Nick and all TL fans for always believing in me. I’m ready to win.”

All the signs pointed towards Piglet leaving the team. After a volatile period with the starting roster and in particular, Jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, Piglet’s drop down to the Challenger Series seemingly marked the beginning of the end.

As the off-season arrived and the rumours a Team Liquid Top and Jungle duo of Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho and Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin began to circulate, it looked increasingly likely that Piglet would be muscled out of his import slot and return to South Korea.

But with Piglet’s return, the team head into the forthcoming split with four of five members previously with the Team Liquid organisation.

Samson “Lourlo” Jackson will return to the Top Lane with Piglet’s former partner Matt “Matt” Elento accompanying him in the bot lane on Support. Mid laner Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer has been promoted from Team Liquid Academy to the LCS squad, joining headline signing Yeu-jin “Reignover” Kim, a Korean counterpart for Piglet, who joins from Immortals.

The 2017 NA LCS is set to be the most competitive season to date and should be a year in which Team Liquid aim for their first World Championship. Many are predicted great things for Team Liquid this season, including former Team SoloMid AD Carry Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, who still rates Piglet as the best AD Carry in the region:

Team Liquid fans will see their new line-up take to the rift for the first time at the Intel Extreme Masters in Gyeonggi, South Korea – it’s Piglet’s time to shine.
