Sports and pop culture are normally two things that go hand in hand, especially when it comes to television programming. Whether it was Larry Johnson on Family Matters, Bill Buckner on Curb Your Enthusiasm, LeBron James on Entourage, or Wayne Gretzky in The Simpsons, professional athletes have made appearances on some of the greatest programs in television history.

Family Guy is another program that never shies away from incorporating a notable athlete into their episodes. Since its creation in 1999, the show has featured a ton of sports personalities, including Tom Brady, Steph Curry, and John Madden. Full list below. Can you spot your favorite athlete?

Recently, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had the whole plot of an episode built around his appearance on the on the show. This particular episode titled “Gronkowsbees” featured the Patriots tight end moving into the house behind the home of the Griffin family, the show’s main characters.

At first, Peter Griffin (the father of the family) was ecstatic that his new neighbor was also one of his favorite football players in Gronkowski. But Peter and the rest of his family quickly realized that there is a reason why New England’s tight end is known as a guy who loves to party, even in animated form.

As it always does, the show did a great job at poking fun and exaggerating on the reputation that Gronkowski has built off the field since his time in the NFL.

At one point in the episode, the tight end gave Peter and his friends a tour of his house that included a few different features which were sponsored by a number of big name companies including a hot tub filled with coffee sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, a pool filled with soup sponsored by Campbell’s Soup, and an outdoor shower that sprayed Monster Energy Drink instead of water.

Gronkowski also introduced his four brothers and father to Peter and his friends during the episode, but the tight end said he was not really sure which of the five people were his father.

After Gronkowski’s late night partying began to be unbearable, Peter decided he needed to figure out a way to get the tight end to move out of the neighborhood. Following the tight end beating up Peter and his friends with a single hand while eating a sandwich in the other hand, Gronkowski was eventually spooked out of his home due to a swarm of steroid-infused bees.

So basically for anyone who has watched an episode of Family Guy before, this was pretty much a typical episode.
