In Gee Chun Wins U.S Women’s Open On Debut

South Korea’s In Gee Chun birdied four of the last seven holes to win by one-stroke, becoming the first player to win her U.S Open debut since 2005.

The 20-year-old shot a four-under-par 66 in the final round to finish eight-under for the tournament and win her first major title.

She beat compatriot Amy Yang who was leading going into the final day but could only manage a round of 71.

Defending champion Michelle Wie struggled with her hip injury finishing 11th, six shots back.

Although she almost aced the 16th (par 4)…

The highlight of my day! 🙆🙆 Not bad for finishing on one leg 😉 Check out USGA.org for more #USOPEN #wootwoot

Congratulations to In Gee Chun, with form that strong I imagine we will be hearing her name more often.
