Jordan Spieth came up just short at the British Open, missing out of a playoff by one shot. The 21-year-old who won the Masters and U.S. Open was going for the calendar-year Grand Slam, and seeking to become the first player since Ben Hogan in 1953 to win the first three legs.
So how bummed was Spieth in defeat? Probably a lot, but he’s certainly handling it well.
Check out this tweet he sent out following Zach Johnson’s win at The Open:

Then there’s this, which we’re calling the early frontrunner for greatest photo of the year.
On a private plane back to the U.S. with Open Champion Zach Johnson, Spieth took a swig from the Claret Jug, which was captured on camera by Johnson’s caddie Damon Green, which you can see below.
Seriously, there’s so many awesome things going on in this photo. What was Spieth actually drinking? Did he have to ask Zach for permission, or did Johnson make the offer? Why are both their hats backwards? Major props to Green for getting his camera in time to capture this epic shot. And the look on Johnson’s face is absolutely priceless.
The legend of Jordan Spieth continues to grow…
