This is why you need a way to keep those golf balls warm on those cold winter days. Research from sports science shows that warmer balls travel further than colder ones.

What happens is that warmer balls become more elastic, allowing more energy transfer from club to ball, meaning the ball travels further. (see video for in depth science)
