John Daly sent shockwaves around the world when he almost lost his life after a collapsed lung while playing a local tournament in Canton on Saturday.
Daly was rushed to hospital on Saturday and recovered well, even managing to finish the tournament on Sunday.
New information from Daly’s playing partner Will Dottley provides a scary insight into how close Daly came to loosing his life.
“I had my arm around him when he went down. He had no pulse and wasn’t breathing for close to three minutes,” said Dottley, who added that there was a nurse in the gallery who administered CPR. “It was kind of a miracle.”
Dottley said Daly was struggling with a hand issue during the round and despite temperatures in the high 90s, he hadn’t shown any signs of distress until the 18thtee.
