On Thursday PGA officials announced the cancellation of the 2015 Grand Slam of Golf, after removing the competition from a Donald Trump course in California.
The PGA decided to back away from the controversy surrounding Trump’s racist comments about Mexican and Latino immigrants.
Plans were made to find a different venue for the event, but no replacement could be sourced in time for a tournament that would have featured Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Zach Johnson and one other invitee.
“Due to the timing and logistics needed to stage the PGA Grand Slam of Golf to the highest standards, we are disappointed that we will not be able to conduct the event this year,” the PGA said in a statement.
Essentially if Trump didn’t make his racist comments then this golf tournament would be going ahead… who ever said he was good for golf.
