Although football was literally his achilles heel for a while, Rory McIlroy can’t seem to stay away from it. He might not be in tip-top shape for some rough and tumble at the moment, but he’s certainly going to make his opinions about it known. And he really isn’t too fond of Louis van Gaal. Under the former Holland coach’s tutelage, Manchester United is currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League behind rivals Manchester City. And the world’s No. 1 golfer is none too happy about it.
“I think the signing’s he’s (Louis van Gaal) has made will come good in time, but I’m not convinced that LVG is the right man to lead us. I don’t know, it’s a hard one. Everyone’s dropping points and it looks like city will run away with it. Hopefully things will pick up and we’ll challenge for the title, but we’ll see.”
We think it’s pretty cute that Rory McIlroy refers to Man U as “us”. But we digress. Our parting point is, buck up, Louis.
