How Jordan Spieth Reacted To Winning PGA TOUR POY Award

When Jordan Spieth woke up on January 1st 2015, he had made several goals for his upcoming PGA TOUR season. They included winning one or two events, contending in the majors and making the cut in all four of them. Things went a little differently than expected for the 22 year old.

Two majors titles later, five PGA TOUR wins and the FedEx Cup prize, Jordan Spieth was named PGA TOUR Player of the Year on Friday, voted by his peers.

“It is a season to remember,” Spieth said upon hearing the news. “It’s an honor to win the Player of the Year award because it’s our MVP, our most valuable player award. And to be recognized by your peers is truly special.”

Spieth’s run started at the Valspar Championship and he didn’t look back since. With wins at the John Deere Classic and TOUR Championship to add to his Masters and U.S. Open titles, Spieth ascended to No. 1 in the world and took home the Vardon Trophy for the lowest scoring average.

“Just getting back with family, friends, the team, everybody, being able to celebrate what happened those two days and weeks was pretty cool,” he said. “They were fun.”
