It’s coming to the end of another crazy year, and with that, there’s a shit load to look back on in the golf world.
Some players have been saints, some geniuses, and others downright awful. While the PGA TOUR will enjoy their formal ceremony to celebrate the best players and hand out fake gold awards for that, today is not that day ladies and gentleman.
Wanker Of The Year
A fake kidnapping story gave golf’s silly season something to cheer about, but that wasn’t the end of Robert Allenby’s fucked up year. In a desperate attempt to be an even bigger wanker to audiences worldwide, Allenby spectacularly fired his caddie in the middle of a PGA TOUR round before trash-talking him to the media.
Biggest Letdown Of The Year
Had there been an award for Social Media Darling Of 2015, Paige Spiranac would have won hands down. But sometimes life doesn’t give you what you want. For Paige Spiranac, 2015 will be a year of mixed emotions. After landing an endorsement deal with Callaway, she then failed to make the cut (or anywhere close to it) in her controversial Ladies European Tour debut in Dubai. Is she going to go Blair O’Neal on the world and disappear from every man’s radar? Let’s hope not.
Flop Of The Year
Tiger Woods. I’m not even going to waste another word on Eldrick’s 2015 season. Disaster. Absolute disaster. Alright, I wasted 3 words.
Weirdo Up Of The Year
There’s only going to be one winner in this category, and Bubba Watson wins it hands down. Bubba has been involved in more media spats and controversies, including the highlight of the year when he was forced to paint his General Lee following the June 17 shooting at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, where Dylann Roof walked into the building and shot dead nine African-Americans.
Family Man Of The Year
During a breakout season (actually a legendary one), Jordan Spieth won the hearts of golf fans worldwide when he displayed his closeness with family, including his autistic sister Ellie who serves as his biggest motivation to win major championships. Spieth is a cool motherfucker, and his affection to his family only helped win our love.
Weirdest Moment Of The Year
PGA Championship winner Jason Day took his wife with him to watch good mate Lebron James and his Cavaliers play, but the night soon turned sour when the NBA legend crashed on top of Ellie Day. Mrs. Day suffered a nasty head and neck injury, but perhaps more famous was hubbie Jason’s lacklustre reaction when the event unfolded.
Breakup Of The Year
It so could’ve gone to Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn, but who really cares about them? The biggest breakup in golf happened between Rickie Fowler and sweetheart Alexis Randock. After posting pictures of their lives across Instagram, Rickie and Alexis called it quits in the summer exciting female golf fans everywhere. How could anyone in their right mind let this girl go?
