Your response to the launch of PXG was pretty much on point with how we felt – what unlikeable cheese piece would think a $5,000 set of clubs could make any discernible difference to their game?

Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees a similarity with the Transformers logo. Quite aptly sums up the company – fictional, fanciful and made at an extortionate cost.

PXG seem to echo the same materialistic chump mantra of their owner – who once spent $350,000 on golf clubs in a single year (still plays off 10 tho) – which is, ‘a bad workman blames his tools.’

If you don’t have the sense to see that their aggressive pricing structure is a top-down market entry strategy, you don’t deserve the money you earned to buy the clubs. But hey, it’s a free country so do what you want!

You would think the guy waiting would sit and drink decent beer as he prepares to buy a $5,000 set of PXGs. Toasting the purchase with a case of bud light is a bit like smashing a bottle of cat piss on the bow of a new boat for good luck.

Check out this fairly insipid Q and A session with Alison Lee. This forms part of a series of videos where players are encouraged to describe PXG with one word (or about twenty) by a guy who sounds like siri. “I would say edgy, because you know, it just has an edge to it. Especially the way it looks. It’s different, it’s just the new cool thing. It’s edgy,” said Pythagoras Lee

I dunno, oh god, like whatever, maybe I’m being a bit harsh. I’m too busy wondering why the voice-dubbed criminal asking the questions doesn’t want his identity revealed. I was beginning to think he would offer Allison the chance to ‘play a game’.
