Chinese Super League Makes Another Surprising Signing

Obafemi Martins is the latest high profile name to move to China, as he joins from MLS outfit Seattle Sounders. The likes of Ramires and Alex Teixeira have surprised by joining the Chinesea Super League. So should we start taking the Chinese league seriously?

Another day, another bizarre move to the Chinese Super League with Obafemi Martins the latest ‘name’ to decide that money outweighs the need to get fulfilment from your job.

The former Newcastle United striker has clearly decided he’d had enough of Sigi Schmid continually ballsing up Seattle Sounders’ MLS Cup campaigns despite probably having the finest squad out of the two conferences.

 

Martins MLS exit is a major blow for the American league, with the striker joining Seattle in 2013 as a player in his peak, which went a little way in dispelling the myth that Major League Soccer is a retirement home for one-time superstars.

Football Manager 2004 legend, Martins, will be linking up with former Premier League pairing Tim Cahill and, more excitingly, Demba Ba, who can combine their abilities to score highly amusing goals:

 

 

Martins arrival has certainly gone down well with the rest of his Shanghai Shenhua team-mates, with one midfielder, in particular, making a lot of noise:
