Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, has surprised the world of football by naming the strongest possible squad available to him for the Red Devils’ Europa League clash against FC Midtjylland.

The Dutchman looked unconvincing as he tried to remember what injuries Darmian and Rooney were supposed to have, in order to avoid saying that the duo had been dropped for being shite.

van Gaal could award debuts to Regan Poole, Joe Riley and James Weir, a trio who have been compared to a young Ronny Johnsen, Kleberson and Eric Djemba-Djemba.

Veteran Donald Love, who has clocked up one United appearance in his career, looks set to start on Thursday having impressed in United’s embarrassingly, tragic defeat to relegation-threatened Sunderland.

Unconfirmed reports had also suggested that the former Bayern Munich manager was contemplating starting Marouane Fellaini but believed Midtjylland would overcome his side if he just started 10 men.

Whether van Gaal going for it against Midtjylland works out, remains to be seen, given the fact the Red Devils are huge underdogs against the side currently sitting in third place in the Danish Superliga thanks to a superior goal difference.
