Football teams love their dramatic scorers and Arsenal is no different. After 25-year old striker Danny Welbeck helped cinch their 2-1 victory against Leicester City at the Emirates stadium with a beautiful long-distance goal, the team decided that he had earned himself a reward. When he came into the changing room, the entire team ambushed and serenaded their man of the moment.

“Everyone was pleased for me and they sang a song when I came into the changing room!” Welbeck revealed in a Twitter Q&A with teammates Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Alex Iwobi.

Welbeck himself was pretty chuffed at his own performance, describing it as “up there” with the very best moments of his career. We’d agree. There could have been no better comeback from his 10 month long reprieve due to injury.

When asked who he’d most like to model his career after, Welbeck replied, “There are loads to choose from… I idolised Giggs, Henry and Ronaldinho.

He could well be on his way to reaching his idols’ legendary status. After all, his last-gasp goal has been pivotal in keeping Arsenal in the Premier League race and the team is now two points behind their defeated rival Leicester City. We’d be dead proud if we were him too. We’ll let these Arsenal fans singing the Danny Welbeck song speak for us.
