Luis Suarez popped back for a surprise visit to former club Liverpool.
After managing to escape from Anfield after three-and-a-half years with Liverpool, Suarez took the ballsy move to return to his former capturers, highlighting that all is forgiven after the Reds made him play with Iago Aspas, Victor Moses and Aly Cissokho.
Suarez, of course, gave the official Liverpool website lines of propaganda nonsense – presumably with a gun to his head – but, thankfully for the Barcelona man, we picked up on the subliminal messages behind his farcical quotes.
“It was fantastic to see the lads,”
Translation: “I always like to do a bit of charity work”
“The people that work here are really nice and I miss them, so I wanted to come and see some friends. I have really good friends here.”
Translation: “After I’ve finished here with the Liverpool players, I will go and see some of my good friends I have nearby – no; none of this lot.”
“I had a really good moment here in three and a half years and when you have a really good moment in your life, it is something you remember. “
Translation: “For the life of me, I can’t remember one good moment I had here. Actually, Steven Gerrard’s slip was fucking hilarious; yeah, that was quality – still makes me laugh now.”
“I always try to watch [Liverpool’s] games and look out for the results. I am very interested in how Liverpool are doing because they are so important in my life.”
Translation: “If Coronation Street isn’t on and I’ve watched all ‘The Chase’ episodes on my Sky planner, then, yeah, I’ll put myself through 90 minutes of Liverpool.”
