Jurgen Klopp came under criticism from Match of the Day 2’s bald eagles, Danny Murphy and Alan Shearer, for his public rant at Christian Benteke:
“If you’re going to give someone a telling off then do it inside.”
“Sometimes he’s great Jurgen Klopp, he’s been a breath of fresh air but sometimes he’s overly animated on the touchline and it doesn’t always go down well with everyone.”
The summer signing under Brendan Rodgers took the brunt of the eccentric Klopp’s backlash following Liverpool’s collapse from being 2-0 up against Southampton. Benteke had earlier missed a great chance for the Reds, a chance which would’ve killed off any Saints fightback, had he taken it.

Klopp’s antics on the sidelines since joining have divided opinions, although the majority seem to find the former Borussia Dortmund’s open criticism of his Liverpool side, celebrations, soundbites and overall theatrics refreshing.
It’s all very well Klopp’s action being refreshing but you have to ask yourself, are they also contrived? The sensible money lumps on ‘Yes’.
