The fine-print details of Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona from Liverpool have been revealed by whistleblowing journalism site Football Leaks – and the transfer fee has come under scrutiny.

Having sold their star striker, Liverpool were keen to report at the time of the move that the Catalonian giants had paid £75million to the Reds for the Uruguayan.

However, the contract shared by website Football Leaks show that 2014 transfer figure was actually under the £65million mark (£64,980,000) – £10million less than originally stated by the Merseyside club.

The fee was made payable in five separate instalments – £13million on July 31 2014, January 31 2015, July 31 2015 and January 31 2016.

An extra £12,980,000 is set to be paid on July 31 2016.

The leaked contract has outraged Liverpool fans, as it confirms the originally refuted statements made by Barcelona vice president Jordi Meste in August 2014, who claimed at the time the fee was £65million.

“Luis Suarez had a release clause at Liverpool of £75million. After negotiations, we in the end paid £65million.”

Adding insult to injury, since arriving at Camp Nou, the Uruguayan has been nothing short of sensational.

The Uruguayan’s poor disciplinary history seems to be behind him, and if anything – the striker has actually got better.

Already this term he’s scored a phenomenal 43 goals in as many games, following up from the 25 he notched last term which helped Barca win a record-breaking treble.

It’s widely argued that if it wasn’t for Lionel Messi and Neymar scoring alongside him, he’d likely be considered the best player in the world based on current form – Liverpool fans will be further disappointed to learn that there are no bonus clauses if Barca win competitions or even if Suarez picks up the Ballon d’Or.

Why Did Liverpool Lie To Us?

There’s no way that Liverpool didn’t know the exact figure when they signed the paperwork for Suarez’s transfer – why then did they feel the need to lie to the media and above all, their fans?

It’s the question being echoed by angry Liverpool fans on Twitter…
