This video honestly seems too good to be true. Hitting the perfect drive into a moving Mercedes just doesn’t seem plausible, and yet this shows exactly that, saying they broke a world record in the process. This brings the speculation that comes with a lot of trick shot videos.. is it real or is it fake?
I’m pretty gullible when it comes to these things, and never really think to doubt the videos people post. So I did some research to see if this renegade shot was real or a fluke.
First off, I was scrolling through comments on a video clip of the OG post on Instagram and came across this:
So clearly the guy in the video is this golfer, Jake Shepherd, saying that he actually did do this in DC. He is a 25-year-old Englishman, who was on the European Tour in 2012, which just so happens to be the date of the original post. Why would the golfer comment on the post if he knew it was fake?
Which brings me to the truth (or so I think). This video was created by Mercedes UK themselves, leading me to believe that it couldn’t possibly be fake. But then again, car companies have been known to lie before, like when the VW was caught cheating on American air pollution testing. It’s hard to know who’s lying and who’s telling the truth these days, but the video proof is hard to deny.
What do you think?
