Beast Ronaldo Sets Insane New Record

Cristiano Ronaldo is an animal.

A freak.

A goal scoring machine.

Over the weekend, he reached another historic milestone: he scored his 200th home goal at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Here’s the freaky part:

It took Ronaldo just 171 games at the Bernabéu to score 200 goals.

That’s an average of 1.16 goals per game.

Here’s a video of where it all started, when Ronaldo was introduced to a raucous crowd at the Bernabéu for the very first time:

He certainly did not disappoint.

Here’s how Ronaldo’s 200 home goals were divvied up between competitions:

La Liga – 149
Champions League – 40
Copa del Rey – 10
Spanish Super Cup – 1

He scored five goals in a single La Liga game against Granada last year. Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah…

While Ronaldo’s talent is undeniable, some lament how his style of play has been reduced to brutal, calculated, efficiency:

GOAL SCORING MACHINE BUT I REALLY MISS HIS MAN UNITED PLAY STYLE. I KNOW SOME PEOPLE SAY ITS BECAUSE OF AGE BUT EVEN WHEN HE WAS IN HIS 26-28 HE STOPPED PLAYING THE STYLE WHICH MADE HIM FAMOUS.”

Others were quick to leap to Ronaldo’s defense:

“NO ATHLETE COULD SUSTAIN THAT STYLE OF PLAY THROUGHOUT THEIR LATER YEARS. THAT’S ANOTHER BRILLIANT FEATURE OF RONALDO’S LEGACY. HE WAS ABLE TO CHANGE HIS PLAYING STYLE AND STILL BE ONE OF HTE TOP 3 PLAYERS IN THE WORLD. AMAZING.”

Arguments about style aside, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best (European) footballer on the planet, and this 200 goals in 171 home game record is yet another weapon in the Ronaldo camp’s arsenal that they can hurl at Messi supporters.
