Another international tournament, another Luis Suarez headline.
The controversially, brilliant striker threw a strop reminiscent of a five-year-old being told that they can’t have any Angel Delight for dessert.
In fairness, the former Liverpool striker had just been told he’d play no part in Uruguay’s game against Venezuela – a game which resulted in a shock 1-0 defeat for Suarez’s nation, and ultimately confirmed their early exit from the tournament.
Rather amusingly, Suarez was warming up despite the fact he wasn’t even named as a substitute, so surely the Barca man knew he had no chance of coming on, because, you know, rules.
It is that desire to play, to thrive and to succeed that makes Suarez one of the finest strikers ever to play the beautiful game. However, that on the edge mentality obviously results in the ridiculously long and disgraceful rap sheet the former Ajax man has picked up along the way – one that he will no doubt continually add to.
