BREAKING: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Announces Retirement

Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is retiring from international football.

The 34-year-old has long been one of the most popular and intriguing figures in world football.

We love Ibrahimovic because he marches to the beat of his own drum.

He’s a nonconformist.

In today’s world of sanitized sounds bites and politically correct press releases, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a breath of fresh air.

While everyone is worried about not saying the wrong thing, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is busy not giving a fuck.

The best example of Zlatan’s aversion to bitchassness occurred when he was questioned about his sexual orientation after a highly suspect photo of him and Gerard Pique was published:

Gerard Pique Finally Explains over Intimate Photo with Zlatan

With his car surrounded by a throng of gawkers and press, he infamously told a female reporter,

Come to my house and you’ll see if I’m gay. And bring your sister.

That’s just par for the course for Zlatan.

Here are more clips of Ibra doing Ibra:

He was scheduled to play in the Olympics with Sweden this summer in Rio, but his retirement from international soccer following the Euros means he will not participate.

Instead, he will (allegedly) join Manchester United in time for the start of the Premier League season on August 13th.

While we won’t get to see him in that yellow Swedish jersey after the Euros, he’ll play a few more years of club ball before hanging those boots up for good.

Enjoy him while you can.

Cheers to the greatest Swede who ever lived.
