WATCH: The best highlights of players struggling at The Open Championship

Henrik Stenson’s performance will go down as one of the greatest final rounds in Open Championship history. His performance on the back nine – a stretch where everyone struggled – was unreal, nobody in the world could have responded to four birdies in the last five holes.

To call it a two horse race would ignore the stable full of horses that never turned up. The rest of the field were left chomping on gorse as Phil and Henrik played a different game. Rarely do you see a leaderboard with so much air separating the field.

The final day was a masterclass, but what about the rest of the field? What happened to leave so many of the world’s best golfers trailing in the wake of two Swedes? – apparently Phil’s paternal grandfather hails from Viking country.
