Manchester United Scrambling For More Money After Juventus Reject $111 Million Pogba Offer

If Paul Pogba leaves Juventus, it won’t be on the cheap. Juventus has rejected a $111 million bid from Manchester United for the French midfielder, stating they want MORE money.

Manchester United’s $111 million deal would be the most expensive transfer of all time. Their offer tops the $110 million Real Madrid paid to get Gareth Bale in 2013.

Despite Bale’s obvious superiority, Juventus is rumored to be seeking $132 million for Pogba and not a dollar less.

$111 million is an insane amount of money to pay for Pogba. He’s good, but he isn’t that good. He’s not even the best French midfielder for sale right now.

Moussa Sissoko was heads and tails better than Pogba in the Euro final against Portugal.

Not that you can extrapolate a player’s true merit from one performance, but Sissoko put on a clinic, galloping forward through Portugal’s defense like a Dothraki horselord.

Even in today’s inflated transfer market, you can’t tell me Pogba is worth $100 million. The $132 million Juventus is asking for him is absurd. Volcano insurance is a better deal than that.

If I were Juve, I’d want to hold on to Pogba, but not as much as I’d want $100 million plus in cash. You can go out and get 3 or 4 quality players with that.

Juventus might have the Italian league in a chokehold, but they haven’t won a Champions League since 1996. If they want to win Europe’s biggest prize with Buffon between the sticks, they should sell Pogba and invest in players who can bring them a title.

Is Paul Pogba worth more than $100 million?
