What The Hell Happened To Alex Song?

In 2012, Alex Song was coming off a solid year at the Emirates where he grew considerably as a player, but then he decided to be dumbass and take his talents to Barcelona for the price of €15 million.

The Cameroon international was supposed to be the future of the Arsenal midfield. But at age 25, before he reached his footballing peak, he traded London for Spain and turned a future destined for success to sitting on the bench.

Granted, he won a couple trophies, but was merely a spectator in his days in Catalonia.

Realizing that he wouldn’t find his way onto the pitch with the likes of Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Mascherano, Rafinha, and even Sergi Roberto in front of him on the depth chart, he traded Messi for Andy Carroll.

Much like his career and probably his sex life, his time at West Ham was characterized by early success and ended with in disappointment.

Instead of being a great footballer, Song will now spend his days in Russia at Rubin Kazan. This is sign of a man who has lost all hope, much like a man wearing crocs.

I hope for the best for Alex Song who did contribute in his time in an Arsenal jersey, but like many, I don’t expect much from his time in Russia.

He did produce this peach of a ball for RVP at Arsenal.

On the bright side, he’s not being traded for a basketball player like Douglas.

Alex Song peaked too early and he only has himself to blame.
