BREAKING: Lionel Messi Announces Return To Argentina National Team

We all knew this day was coming. Lionel Messi has, in not so many words, officially committed to returning to Argentina’s national team following a meeting with its new coach, Edgardo Bauza, in Barcelona this week.

There are a lot of issues that need to be resolved in Argentine football, but I prefer to help from within and not criticize from the outside.

I don’t want to cause any harm, I’ve always tried to do the exact opposite and help out in whatever way possible.

Lionel Messi

Bauza, a former manager of San Lorenzo and Sao Paulo, was named Argentina’s head coach after Gerardo Martino (and his entire staff) resigned in the wake of Messi’s “retirement”.

The 58-year-old manager was in Barcelona to talk with Javier Mascherano and Lionel Messi, two Argentine internationals who make their living in Catalonia.

While Bauza and Messi didn’t specifically discuss the world’s best player’s return to the Argentine national team, Bauza is certain Messi will be back.

I have no doubt he has a desire to return, but we will have to wait.

Edgardo Bauza

According to the latest reports, Messi will be back in the national team fold in time for Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Venezuela.

He’ll go down in history as not only the greatest soccer player of all time, but also the only athlete to retire and come out of retirement without missing a game.
