Can Anyone Afford Antoine Griezmann?

Money runs the world of football. Inflation is forcing transfer fees to soar and soon transfer fee records being broken will be an every transfer window occurrence. The amount a team requires for a player’s service will be a pissing match of what team will fold first in negotiations rather than the player’s actual worth.

Summer sixteen was the initial showing of how money is going to be tossed around with players like John Stones costing upwards of €50 million, Leroy Sané costing around €50 million, and Paul Pogba breaking the transfer record.

Oh wait, that’s just in Manchester.

Other parts of Europe are doing the same, its not just the two heavy spenders in Manchester with Juventus forking out €94 million for the services of el Gordito, Gonzalo Higuain.

I know the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, and Neymar are in a league of their own and would cost an unfathomable amount of money, but with Higuain with a price tag near €100 million, what would Antoine Griezmann cost?

The Hotline Bling aficionado has showed his class time and time again by scoring 32 goals in all competitions for the Spanish giants and winning the Golden Boot at the Euros for Les Bleus.

Griezmann does it for club and country consistently and is only getting better.

With Diego Simeone shortening his contract at the Vicente Calderon, you can only assume that holding onto Antoine Griezmann will be that much more difficult.

The logical destination for the French striker would be Manchester United to be united with Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba and be that missing piece at Old Trafford to lead the club to glory.

Recently, Griezmann spoke about his friendship with new Manchester United signing, Paul Pogba.

I love his personality. He dances, laughs, he provided a very good atmosphere into the dressing room and on the pitch he is very good. Many people said that he started badly at Manchester United because he was not scoring goals. People think he is going to shoot from 50 meters and score an impressive strike… But he works very hard for the team and with the ball he is a genius.

Plus, Griezmann’s favorite player of all-time is David Beckham, could he really pass up the opportunity to play at Old Trafford?

It is not a matter of if he’ll be a Red Devil, it’s more like when and for how much.
