WATCH: Joe Hart Proves Pep Was A Fool To Cut Him

2016 hasn’t been an easy year for Joe Hart. England’s number one keeper was exiled to Italy in Pep Guardiola’s first act as Manchester City boss, but the way he’s been playing makes you wonder why Pep gave the four time Gold Glove winning keeper the boot. Granted, City is at the top of the Premier League table, but Joe Hart has been nothing short of sensational his whole career. He made one of the best saves of his career in England’s recent World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

Nope, not that. This:

There aren’t too many goalies alive that are making that save. That ball was in the corner like a cutman. Hart fully extends his long ass arms to get a paw on it, and then uses his other hand to bat it outside of the post. Fucking amazing save.

If that’s not what you want from your goalie, you’re out of your mind. Joe Hart won the Golden Glove, the award given to the best goalie in the Premier League, four of the last six years before being axed by Pep Guardiola. It wasn’t like he’s a mediocre keeper who had a couple good years. He’s been one of the top keepers in the world for the better part of a decade.

Italian legend Gigi Buffon, arguably the greatest keeper of all time, praised Hart as one of the world’s best keepers before the two faced off during group play in the 2015 Champions League.

I’ve been watching his game for a few years now, and Joe Hart is now for me one of the top three goalkeepers in the world.

It’s not just about the saves he makes, but the way he organises with such confidence. He is a real leader.

That’s about as strong of an endorsement as you can get. That’s like a basketball player getting cosigned by Michael Jordan or a rapper getting a nod from Jay-Z.

Joe Hart single-handedly kept England in the game against Slovenia. He had a great game, but it wasn’t an aberration. He’s been doing it his whole career.

Even though Manchester City are on top of the Premier League, it was the height of vanity, insanity, and absurdity for Pep Guardiola to get rid of Joe Hart.
