BREAKING: Bets suspended on Conte being the next manager sacked

Bookmakers have reportedly suspended bets on Antonio Conte being the next Premier League manager sacked – don’t worry, it’s no Sam Allardyce sting again (although Conte has been a naughty boy before).

Initial reactions are along the lines of ? but when you really think about it, it’s not as shocking or hard to believe as you think.

Like always in the cesspit hell that is Stamford Bridge, there’s a lack of morals and a huge amount of politics in play.

It’s no secret that the former Italian national team manager is more pissed off than Ryan Giggs for not getting the Swansea City job, for just being Ryan Giggs, about the Blues summer transfer window. With more or less, every player signed, being a back-up to Conte’s first choice target – Radja Nainggolan instead of N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly over David Luiz – less said about Marcos Alonso the better.

Chelsea’s squad has a real ‘past it’, ageing feel to it; the very fact John Terry is still clearly an influential player for the Blues should signal major alarm bells.

Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill are passengers, Cesc Fabregas is unwanted, Oscar is average and Eden Hazard is again disinterested, as he continues to wish he was on the next plane to Madrid.

Conte can’t seem to implement his tactics and style onto this Blues squad, with rumours over wanting, basically, a new squad not dying down, despite the transfer window being over two months away.

Chelsea are a classic example of needing to rid themselves of the bad ‘eggs’ in the changing room rather than the manager. But that won’t happen. It never does.
