WATCH: Pochettino punches Wenger as NLD tensions spill over

For two decades, Tottenham Hotspur fans have woken up in the middle of the night, cold sweats, sheets pissed, with an image of Arsene Wenger floating above them, cackling like the chief tormentor he has become for all associated with the Lilywhites.

The gap has certainly closed in recent years, with Harry Redknapp’s pretty handy team of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart rustling a fair few feathers. And under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have kicked on again, with suggestions that they may well be the club in north London with the most going for them – no arguments from us that Arsenal wouldn’t be capable of losing 5-1 to an already-relegated Newcastle United.

After the Gunners still somehow managed to finish above Tottenham last season, this current campaign will give us the greater insight into whether the tide is truly turning in north London. But given the clearly agitated and unstable nature of Pochettino, at the moment, it appears Wenger is already getting under the Argentine’s skin…
