Jurgen Klinsmann has been fired and Bruce Arena has been appointed. The USMNT is in a really shitty situation just two games into the Hexagonal.
American soccer is in a transitional stage that will be just that until the likes of Sunil Gulati and Don Garber are ousted as the snakes that run soccer in America. Bruce Arena will prove to be ineffective and the US will be in a similar situation after his first stint.
Here are 10 better alternatives to Bruce Arena:
El piojo is a fiery motherfucker that can get you wins. After being fired by Mexico, he'd do anything to get back at them including coach the USMNT.
Despite being hired by Atlanta United, Martino would have been a far superior choice than Arena. The man has coached (poorly) at Barcelona and La Albiceleste.
Frank de Boer
Now looking for work following the short stint at Inter Milan, de Boer has a great track record at Ajax. Honestly, no one can fix what the fuck is happening at Inter.
He wouldn't want this man on the sidelines for the US? He's proven he can do it in the Premier League despite West Ham's really shitty season this year.
Andre Villas Boas
The man who was supposed to be the 'next Jose Mourinho' is a sell out like the rest and now coaching in China. The USMNT would offer him an opportunity to do something with his managerial career.
Blanc was a class player and has managed for PSG and France. He could bring a wealth of experience to the US, but he's French so there's no fucking chance.
He has molded FC Dallas into an MLS powerhouse without much financial backing and has an eye for young talent. He could make the USMNT great again.
Big Sam is a twat, but he would be the cheapest option as he has a lot to prove following his comical exit from the England post.
Fucking hell, even this man is more qualified than Arena. Moyes might not have much time left at Sunderland because he's only won two damn games in the Prem this season.
Roberto Di Matteo
He's won the Champions League with Chelsea and been axed by Aston Villa. Don't know what you're going to get with Di Matteo, but it would be worth a gamble.
The ability of US Soccer to consistently fuck up is second to none and will continue to do so until the powers at be are removed from their posts. There are a few MLS managers that can get the job done with the USMNT and Bruce isn’t one of them.
Most of the country is happy with the removal of the “foreigner” that was in charge of the national team side, but his time wasn’t up yet. The USMNT doesn’t have a better alternative at the moment and Arena should already be on borrowed time.
