Barcelona eye Real Madrid star as Iniesta replacement

The rivalry of El Clasico is one that unparalleled in world football. The political, economical, and cultural differences between the sides really causes some friction between the two. To put it lightly, the two sides really fucking hate each other or at least not as much as when Francisco Franco or Jose Mourinho were in power

Despite the hatred for one another, business has been done on various occasions where players swapped one for the other. Granted, some swaps weren’t as pretty with a pig head being tossed at Luis Figo when he signed for Real Madrid from Barcelona, but money talks so deals have happened between the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid player and Spanish international, Isco, has found life increasingly difficult with Zinedine Zidane as the manager. The tricky little bastard has managed just a few appearances under the Frenchman and is looking to seek greener pastures and obviously more playing time. He’s been playing as of late, but only due to injuries in the side.

Isco had the opportunity to leave this summer as Tottenham would’ve preferred to sign him rather than the waste of £30 million that is Moussa Sissoko, but the Spaniard realized that he’d be stuck at Tottenham and decided he’d rather warm the bench at Real Madrid.

I heard that Tottenham was interested in me and I didn’t want to hear it. Pochettino is a good manager, but it’s still Spurs. I asked people what they thought about Tottenham and they replied “Shit”. So, I decided to stay in Madrid.

Isco

Barcelona are evidently targeting the young midfielder with the midfield maestro, Andres Iniesta, not getting any younger. It would be tricky for Isco to cross into enemy territory as the last Barcelona-Real Madrid transfer happened in 2007 with Javier Saviola, but he would be worth the trouble for the Catalans as he would fit nicely into the side.

With the January window quickly approaching, the deal might not be as ridiculous as it seems. There’s only 18 months left on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu meaning Barcelona could get him for cheap. Either way, let’s hope for blood.
