Look, Christmas is amazing. It allows you to spend time with the family, eat lots of food and listen to Wizzard – it simply cannot be faulted. But it also represents the back end of the year and brings with it a great deal of promise for the following twelve months.
These games not only look amazing in terms of quality, but they’re also set to have vital implications for leagues across Europe. If that isn’t enough to make them great, then I have no idea what is.
UEFA Champions League Final
Because come on now, just because we don't know who is in it yet doesn't mean it won't be amazing.
It'll be in Cardiff too which is bound to create a fascinating atmosphere in the cauldron that is the Millennium Stadium.
RB Leipzig vs. Bayern Munich
The ultimate David vs. Goliath story. This game is coming up in a few weeks time but the reverse fixture towards the end of the Bundesliga season could be historic.
Roma vs. Juventus
Whilst there may be a sense of mutual respect among these two competitors, it means nothing in the race for the Serie A title. Juventus are the dogs bollocks and have been for a long time now, but Roma can sense an uprising. It's coming.
Chelsea vs. Arsenal
We say it every year but this could well be Arsenal's best chance at winning a title in well over a decade. Chelsea hate them, and they hate Chelsea. The ingredients are there - now fight.
Man City vs. Liverpool
These two appear to be outsiders in the title race, but my god they always create some fantastic matches between them.
Expect this to be no different as they scratch and claw for a chance to be called champions. Love it.
Nice vs. PSG
Another underdog attempting to claim the throne of the almighty rulers. Even Game of Thrones couldn't write this stuff, it's absolute gold. Can't wait.
Goodness gracious. If anyone has a time machine spare to take us to the future please send it in, because holy shitballs the next few months of football are going to be sensational. Buckle up, because this game is as good as it’s ever been. Fact.
