WATCH: FLY WildTurtle Shows There Are No Hard Feelings Towards Former TSM Teammates

Despite suffering through a torrid start to his spell with FlyQuest eSports, the veteran AD carry showed nothing but grace as he conceded defeat to the team that rejected his services and re-signed  Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng in his place.

Throughout the ups and downs of his professional eSports career, Jason “Wildturtle” Tran has always played with a smile on his face. This endearing trait has been unwavering, despite years of criticism, unwarranted comparisons and scapegoating.

After the second coming of Doublelift inevitably pushed Turtle out of the Team SoloMid door once again, Turtle moved for a reunion with his former Quantic Gaming and Cloud9 teammates at FlyQuest eSports.

FlyQuest, the surprise package of the Spring Split, have proven unable to replicate their success in the summer, joint bottom of the table and comfortably swept aside by Team SoloMid for their seventh loss of the split.

After lifting the NA LCS trophy in the Spring Split with Team SoloMid and attending the Mid-Season Invitational as North America’s representative, WildTurtle is now facing the prospect of a relegation battle.

Any other professional player would be well within their right to harbour some ill feelings towards Team SoloMid, given the step backwards Turtle has been forced to take in order to maintain a starting spot on the roster.

But as the TSM roster approached the FlyQuest desk following a comfortable 2-0 sweep, WildTurtle showed there were no hard feelings towards his former teammates, embracing each and every player in turn, even Doublelift.

“I’ve spent most of my career on TSM now and I’m extremely thankful for all the experiences I’ve had with Andy and the rest of the team.

“I’m really going to miss playing with everyone and within such a motivated environment.”

Nobody enjoys third-wheeling – even personalities, who exist with a near permanent heart-warming grin on their face, will find discomfort in being the spare part to an otherwise enamoured couple.

As Team SoloMid welcomed back Doublelift with open arms, the proposed six-man roster put forward by the North American heavyweights always seemed unachievable, given the gravitas of the two AD carries on their books.

For many, WildTurtle will always be the first player that comes to mind upon the mention of ‘TSM’s AD carry’. The majority of Team SoloMid fans will be wishing for WildTurtle’s FlyQuest to turn their season around.

After his years of humble service, even supplying the team with yet another Spring Split championship in the spring, relegation is the last thing that WildTurtle deserves.
