Football can often be compared to a Hollywood movie; there’s heroes, there’s underdogs and there is surprises. More importantly, though, there are plenty of villains.

Each side in world football has a plethora of villains that fans love to hate and they can come around for a number of reasons, ranging from leaving to joining a rival club, completing an unsavoury action in a match against your side or simply just being awful.

Arsenal are no stranger to villains, especially in the past decade, and the eleven players we’ve selected should make the blood of any Gooner boil – as fans won’t want to be reminded of some of these names.

Arsenal’s recent history of selling top class players to rival clubs has certainly help many of the players selected established themselves as hated figures within the red-half of North London and fans will help Alexis Sanchez doesn’t follow suit.

The Gunners do seem a lot more stable, though, but the horrors of the past will certainly play into the minds of fans when it comes to transfer speculation – and Arsenal haven’t done themselves any good by allowing the likes of Alexis, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to have less than 12 months remaining on their current deals.
