Lexi Thompson taught the 5th hole at the Ko Olina Golf Club a lesson during the LPGA Tour’s Lotte Championship. Playing 528 yards, she left herself with a 9-iron into the green, which meant she slaughtered her ball a staggering 359-yards.
Lexi has averaged 287 yards with the driver this year which makes her the longest hitter on Tour by some margin, in fact, Lexi’s average for 2016 is just two yards behind Jordan Spieth. If she were to compete on the PGA TOUR she would place in the middle of the field for length off the tee.
We can all learn a lot from the way Lexi generates her power by maximising the distance her club head travels, allowing her the ability to generate speed with her hips.
