VIDEO: Top 10 shots from the most famous par three in golf (arguably)

Clearly someone at the PGA Tour gave this top 10 a shuffle before it was posted, I mean come on! Fred Couples with a hole-in-three is going to beat any putt. The “why didn’t I just do that the first time” look on his face was priceless.

Golf commentary is all about hyperventilating when Tiger Woods does something significant, the “better than most” quote goes down as a legendary piece of observation.

This video should get the juices flowing as we wait for The Players to get started this Thursday. It’s often described as “The best field in golf” so it’s time to get ready for the “5th Major” people.

Here are SOME of the most iconic par threes in golf (in no particular order):

The 12th at Augusta National, Georgia: “The round breaker”

The placement of this hole is genius. 155 yards of pure uncertainty separates a player from a venomous green that can ruin a round. “Anyone who says on the 12th tee they know 100% where the ball will land is a liar,” the veteran caddie Billy Foster told CNN. Jordan Spieth’s Masters catastrophe highlighted the difficulty of playing from a drop under pressure, proving that this really is a beautiful beast of a short hole.

The 8th at Royal Troon, Scotland: “Tiny but mighty”

“The Postage Stamp” is the shortest hole in Open Championships history. Royal Troon is the venue for this year’s Open, and this 135-yard par three offers an insight into the perilous sand traps that decorate this iconic links course.

The 16th at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona: “The bloodiest Coliseum in golf”

The Phoenix Open is the most attended golf tournament in the world, attracting some of the loudest fans the game has to offer. “The Stadium Hole” houses 30,000 screaming fans – most of which are shitfaced – which gives the players something else to think about. Beware of the golfer who misses the green on this hole because etiquette has no place in Arizona and we love it!!

Extreme 19th hole, Entabeni, South Africa

I’ll let the clip do the talking, the fact your golf ball will be in the air for 27 second teasing enough.
