Masters Champion Danny Willett Breaks Tournament Record At Wentworth

This is Danny Willett’s first time back on European soil and you can tell he feels right at home at Wentworth for the BMW PGA Champ.

Willett broke the tournament record score and became the first man ever to shoot 29 on the front nine. That’s how many shots it takes most of us to get out of a bunker! This Masters champion is proving to the world that his win was not a result of the downfall of Jordan Spieth, but the result of his skill and hard work.

The control and precision of Willett’s shots are just incredible to watch. Which is why a huge crowd came to cheer him on when he made the turn to the back nine. The pressure of the crowd made him a bit shaky but this recovery shot was almost better than his shots on the front.

He ended up making three bogeys on the back, leaving him with only a one shot lead on day two. No matter how the tournament ends, Danny Willett made history on the front nine at Wentworth.
