Zoo’s are in the line of fire this week after a 3 year old boy fell into a gorilla exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo.

Unfortunately, the gorilla had to be shot to protect the boy and thankfully he was unharmed. The zoo has been reprimanded by PETA for killing the gorilla but they said a tranquilizer would have just made the gorilla angry and the boy would have been harmed or killed. They needed to make a decision and they did what was right, protecting this boy no matter what.

What’s great about Rickie going to the Columbus Zoo and chilling with the animals is that he is showing how important zoo’s still are. Sometimes there are freak accidents like this one but zoo’s do more for these animals than anyone ever could.

Rickie brought along fellow golfer Morgan Hoffman to join him in his festivities. It looks like they had a blast getting to know the all of the animals.

This penguin may have gotten a little too close to Hoffman. In the Snapchat video Rickie first says the penguin is giving him lots of hugs and then says a little something more special is going on.

Obviously Rickie had to check out the puma’s!

By visiting the zoo, Rickie Fowler is doing so much more than that. He is bringing attention to a place that tries so hard to give back and wants nothing more than to protect animals.

Sometimes life isn’t fair and hard decisions must be made. In the end a human life was saved and for that we should be thankful.
